Queer Threads

Tim Spoor

Starting in time for LGBTQ+ History Month, Join our ‘Queer Threads: Hope and Joy’ Project - a partnership with Cambridge University’s Craftivism Society

@cambridge_craftivism_society

Inspired by the AIDS Quilt this project will amplify a message of hope and positivity for the future lives of Queer people at a time when we need this once again. We are inviting you to be part of something which we hope will grow for years to come.

Queerwell is creating a living artwork - a community bunting of hope and joy made from individual bunting panels created by LGBTQ+ people and allies. Each panel will carry a personal message of love, pride, healing, and solidarity for everyone in our community who has ever felt alone, unseen, or unheard. The bunting looks to stand for unity across our community; with each panel connected to the next.

Throughout the year we will provide opportunities for individuals, communities, and work colleagues to come together in a joyful, creative space to reflect, connect, and craft our messages of hope. You will design your own bunting panel using collage, paint, fabric pens, words, or symbols, whatever feels right for you. No sewing skills needed! We will provide all materials, guidance, and encouragement.

All LGBTQ+ people and allies welcome - this is a space of kindness, inclusion, and creativity.

Together, our bunting panels will be joined together into a giant string of bunting -a vibrant celebration of our shared resilience and hope to share publicly.

Let’s stitch our stories into something the world can see - a reminder that none of us are alone, and that when we come together, we create something powerful, visible, and full of love.

Join us on:
